An App Like Yo Could Turn Out to Be Bigger Than Twitter
At the risk of convincing the tech cognoscenti that I’ve lost my mind, I’m here to tell you that Yo—or a Yo-like service—is the next Twitter. It might even be bigger.
Thing is, there is some truth in that there is a void that a simple notification-service can fill. However, I’m not convinced that Yo will be the company/app that wins. Their users have not registered because of said “simple notification service”, but instead because they found the app to be a joke. The company/app that wins will be have to provide a completely different type of value for their users, and that requires execution in terms of getting the right “notifiers” onboard. And here two expats from Israel might have a disadvantage compared to challengers…
